Gilze-Rijen 100 yearsOn March 11, 2010, the dutch airbase Gilze-Rijen celebrated it's 100th anniversary. In 1910 the airfield 'Molenhoek'was established by the first dutch civil aviation society "Eerste Nederlandsche Vliegvereeniging". During the First World War, the airfield was used by the predecessor of the Dutch Air Force "Luchtvaartafdeeling".A replica of a 1910 Bleriot made the link to the history of the airbase, later a formation of Gilze-Rijen based helicopters demonstrated the current inhabitants of the airbase.
